Media Festival
The Westville school district Media Fair was held April 18th, it was attended by over 200 visitors and deemed a success. Students, parents, teachers and community members alike discovered how learning is being transformed with the use of technology in the classroom. Every grade level was represented from kindergarten to high school seniors. Teachers opened their classrooms to showcase how technology is engaging students everyday with interactive tools, apps and programs. Parents were surprised and proud to see how advanced their children are in technology skills and how they are applying these skills to learning. Students were glad to take the time to demonstrate their projects and expertise to all who attended. Community members commented on the many positive changes taking place in the classrooms by incorporating technology tools at every age level. With the many advances technology is making in the world children need these skills for their future.
This year prizes were given to the projects with the most votes. 1st place went to Mrs. Jenkins' 4th grade class showcasing the iPad app Aurasma and iMovies. 2nd place went to 6th grade who displayed a variety of projects they created during the school year, and 3rd place went to Mrs. Witsman and Mr. Bontjes who demonstrated keyboarding on ipads.
